Shots fired, Upshur County man charged with attempted murder

BUCKHANNON, W.Va (WDTV) - A man was arrested after multiple witnesses reported seeing him fire rounds into a populated street with numerous innocent people nearby.

On Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, police responded to a shots fired call in the area of River Place Apartments in Buckhannon.

Police say three men, Landon Kincaid, Savion Farmer, and Kody Cutright had travelled together to the area to “engage in a physical altercation” with some people who lived there.

According to court documents, when confronted by the homeowners, Kincaid and Farmer presented semi-automatic handguns and fired multiple rounds in the directions of several victims on the street.

Witnesses said that when one man confronted the men and told them to leave, Kincaid pointed his handgun at his chest and neck and pulled the trigger 3 times.

Fortunately, the gun misfired and no bullets were discharged, but the witness said that if the firearm functioned properly, he would have been killed.

Next, Kincaid was able to “charge a loaded round” into the handgun, and began recklessly firing the gun out of the car window while speeding away from the scene.

Numerous witnesses described Kincaid in the driver’s seat of the car firing the handgun toward a number of innocent victims.

Savion Farmer is being charged with two counts of wanton endangerment with a firearm and conspiracy to commit a felony, he is being held at TVRJ on a bond of $150,000.

Landon Kincaid is being charged with attempted murder, five counts of wanton endangerment with a firearm and conspiracy, he is being held at TVRJ on a bond of $300,000.
